This Book Could Be a Game Changer
This book could be a game changer is somebody's life. Priscilla Shirer is a wordsmith who has the ability to see things in Scripture that others do not. As I read the devotions I found myself asking why I didn't see that when I had studied the very same passage. Though this devotion is written with a woman in mind, there were plenty of guyish things for me to glean as a man. My wife, my daughter, and my ministry assistant now have a copy of this book as a result of my reading. Each devotion has a question with it that literally pierces your heart. I don't believe anyone could meditate on the Scriptures given, read and think over the devotional thought, answer the thought provoking question, and remain the same spiritually. This book is a 90 day challenge and it would be well worth the read. These 90 days could change your life forever. I will admit that this was my first Priscilla Shirer book but it will not be my last. BUY THIS BOOK!
A MUST read!!!!
There's not enough that I can say about this book that will give it justice. In fact, I can't even think of the right word to put it in perspective. You just need to read it. Priscilla Shirer has allowed God to use her in such a way that is mind boggling. This book has changed my life. I'm at the end with only two days of devotionals left and I'm in tears right now because it has touched my heart and soul that much. I gave copies to my two young adult daughters and I plan to give out more to other women in my family and my girlfriends as gifts. Every woman should own this. I will read this over again and as I do, I will reflect on my notes and enjoy the experience. Get this book, ladies. You won't regret it. It will bless your soul just like it did mine. Oh, and I want to thank Mrs. Shirer for allowing God to use her in this way. I have all of her books and I'm currently reading them. I also watch her bible teaching videos and sermons. I am so grateful for this woman of God.
Space to engage
This new devotional book by Priscilla Shirer is excellent. Each day's writing is short enough to be read in 5-10 minutes, but my favorite part is the space to write. Shirer has provided prompts to engage the text and space to wrestle and think. Highly recommend. Makes a great gift.
One Of The Best Devotionals I Have Read - Buy It!
I love devotionals – but not all devotionals are created equal. The time we spend with our Lord is invaluable. When I use a devotional to lead me into the presence of God, I want a devotional that is fresh, insightful, and based on Scripture. I’m not looking for a book that’s full of fluff and pithy sayings, but one that will lead me to a better understanding of the Lord and teach me how to apply the precepts of the Bible to my life. I want a devotional that will deepen my relationship with and faith in God by increasing my knowledge and understanding of Him. Sounds like a tall order? Perhaps – but not when the author is Priscilla Shirer. Very disappointed!!!
Bought this book with an eagerness to read but when I opened the book and defund reading there were so many pages missing I was very disappointed! How can you sell a book without going through it and making sure all the pages are there?!!
LIFE CHANGING. GET IT.
Wow. Wow. Wow. Honestly, don’t know where I would be without this devotional. Life changing. Earth shaking word. Even right now after a week of being done reading through it I had to pick it up again. It pulled things out of me that I didn’t know where there. Just get it. I promise you wont regret it. All I ask is that you are honest with yourself.
This book changed my life.
It took me TWO WHOLE DAYS to write all of my favorite quotes from Awaken. God used this book to help me when I needed it with exactly the words I needed. I recommend this 90-day devotional to anyone who is struggling to hear God’s voice in transition. We don’t need to do great things for God; He has already done great things for us!
Great for a short daily devotional
I have a schedule that leaves almost no spare time most days. So it's been hard to stay with a daily devotional. But each devotional in this book is just 2 pages, with several applicable scriptures and room to write reflections. And each topic has been VERY inspiring - something to reflect on throughout the rest of the day. This has been my favorite devotional book so far!
Twice as nice
I look forward to reading this devotional book from an unquestionably talented author. I find it odd that I received two copies of this book, though, when I believe that I only ordered one. If the additional copy cannot be returned, I'll be sharing it with a friend. I appreciate Elizabeth Shirer's insights as I skim through the book. I stopped about halfway through to appreciate her encouragement to persevere in the "In Between" times - bolstered by what God has done and anticipating what God will do. The "plodding through the wilderness" can be a challenging time. Thank God for those who understand and seek to encourage during the dry times.
An Inspirational Devotional!
Only on day 5 of this devotional, but it is exactly what I am needing right now! Perfect "bite-sized" inspiration for my mornings. Priscilla gives me something to reflect on throughout my day, without taking up my whole day.
